With SSVP members, the grandma and the child...

Adelene helped the grandma to carry the stuff to her house, a long, winding road....

In the midst of collecting, wrapping and packing blankets, clothes and socks for the Japanese tsunami survivors in the past two weeks, we didn't forget about our own poor people in Penang. Today, we delivered 30 packets of 5 kgs rice, 30 packets of 1kg sugar and 30 packets of 1kg oil to the Catholic church in Pulau Tikus.

The SSVP (Pulau Tikus) has adopted 64 poor families and on the first Sunday of every month, these adoptees will go to the church to collect cash given out by the church. Once in a while, we will take this opportunity to donate some food stuff to these families through the church. This time, we have a guest donor, Madam Fong Sang Ing who kindly donated some cash to buy the rice.

There is a grandma and her grandson whom we have met a few times. Today, we fetched her home again,as she is unable to carry all the rice, oil and sugar. This old lady has to take care of her grandchild alone and the family is also adopted by SSVP.
